sorry, but you can't make someone forget about a person they were with for 6 years! that's a long time and it's simply not that easy. if you make someone fall in love with you that's just not love.
do you really want to be a rebound?
i think you should give him some time, because letting our loved ones go takes time.i can't promise he will fall in love with you as deep as he did with his previous partner, but he will sure appreciate your respect for his feelings.
