I would have never had interest in him ever, and I am sure that he would have never had interest in me. But sometime randomly, we both just began talking a lot and we enjoy it. His friend told my friend that he likes me. The problem is, when he sees me, he avoids me. I try to talk to him and he acts like he hates me. I don't want to be annoying like his ex girlfriend, but I don't know what to do. He knows that I am interested and talks a lot when we text. He says I make him happy and I make him smile. But he does not seem to act that way when he sees me. He is honestly the most awkward person I have ever met in my life, and I wonder why i like him, but i do. What should I do to make him more comfortable to be around me?

If hes a shy guy... Then you cant change him to be more outgoing like you are.
The quickest thing to do to help him get some courage, is to be more touchy and talkative with him. I know you dont want in his face, but that may be what he needs to actually start talking back and not seem that he hates you.
If you know he likes you, and you like him, then maybe try to hold his hand one day. Take it slow, because hes shy.
