A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

ok so i've known this girl my whole life almost and i have fallen madly in love with her. now the thing is her aunt and my uncle got married about 6 years ago. now everyone in the family thinks that there is something wrong with me liking.

plus i think that she likes me as well because when we are alone with each other she is so sweet and caring but when there are people around she is someone else.

i want to know how i can make her feel like its ok to like me and our should be ok.

A female reader, AuntyAlexxmo United Kingdom +, writes (22 February 2010):

AuntyAlexxmo agony auntOf course it is oki for her to like you, you are not related by any blood line and you knew each other much before the marriage ever happened. Do you know if she is sexual atracted to women, as that would help with how to deal with the situation. When you are alone with her you could start by trying to tell her how you feel about her then maybe try and ask her if she feels the same or how she feels about what you have said, good luck. =] x
