hello,

this may sound like a stupid question but it is something that is really getting me down.

I have recently passed my AS exams and have returned to college to do my A2 exams. But most of my friends havent returned to school as they didnt pass, this makes school so boring and depressing for me, i feel like i have no friends and i am on my own, although i do have a couple of friends they arent close and i find that i have to do all the following up (they never run after me). i have spoke to my mum and she has said to me that i am better to put my head down and just do well in my A2 exams. i dont want to leave school and that isnt an option for me, although id appreciate it if you could suggest some ideas for me to make school/college more interesting and make me not hate going, thank you so much for any help

Lola1 agony auntAre there any groups, clubs or teams you would enjoy being a part of?

If you attempt to make new friends with common interests, I am certain you will find it more rewarding than chasing after those who are not as close to you.

It may be difficult at first, but it would be well worth the effort.

You can set up visits with those friends who are not in school anymore, if possible.

Quitting school because of a brief lag in your social life is likely something you would regret in later years...

Good Luck!

It's only the first week back so give it a chance.

You have the opportunity to make new friends now.

Ask some one new if you can sit with them in your classes. Take a chance. At the very least you will have someone to work on your subjects with in class.... and it may turn into a great new friendship.

Also, see what clubs and groups they have going on and join one. It looks great on your UCAS form and will help you meet new people. Plus if gives you something to do of a lunch time.

Good Luck!! xx
