 Beacuse you met on the net I take it that you didnt swap photos, I think what has happened is that even if you didnt know you were doing it you were building up a mental picture of her, When you meet you find out that she doesnt match the pic of her you have in your head and she doesnt "fit" with what you imagined.
Take some time to get to know her away from the net, then you will get used to her personality with her face, it is a common thing if you dont have a pic.
Get to know her away from the net and see how things go.
