I'm 16 years old, 4ft 11" and weigh 9 stone (which I know is overweight) I really want to lose weight and tone up because just over a year ago I weighed 7 stone and was really slim and could fit in what I wanted although my mum said I looked healthiest at 8 stone. I'm not trying to become a size 0 or anything I just desperately want to lose weight so I feel confident again. I absolutely hate how I look now and I feel disgusting and rarely go out because I cant find anything to cover me up. Because I put the weight on I've got stretch marks on my hips and thighs. I've tried all sorts of diets, The Atkins diet which left me feeling extremely weak, The soup Diet and so on. I know the key is to just eat healthy and exercise but I'm struggling to do this as I crave Diet Coke and chocolate.Does anyone know any ways in which I can lose weight and tone up so I look better and feel more confident in myself. I dont particularly want to go to the gym or swimming as many people I know do these and as I said I'm not confident.Any advice would be appreciated :) Thanks x

Pilates. Look videos up on the internet or buy videos of it. I went on a low carb diet last summer. It really worked. But I was working out 6 days out of the week for an hour every day that I went to the gym. Losing wieght is a lot harder than gaining and you want to make sure that you are committed to losing the weight in time. Make a goal a certain goal that you want to have to look like before you go on vacation. I will tell you this, eat within the hour of waking up because that's when you're body is going to need the food the most, and make sure that you don't have anything that has carbs such as bread or wheat or rice or anything like that, mainly you want to eat protien but exercise and they say that after you are done exercising 20 minutes afterwards you want to eat something with protien in it because it's best for your body.
Work out in the morning, not at night.

Other than eating healthy and exercising, there's not much you can do. You can jog outside for exercise so you won't run into people at the gym. As for eating, a good way to make sure you eat less is to eat slowly and never eat in front of the TV. Also take smaller portions. If you have to get up to go get more food frequently, you'll eat less. Make sure the snacks in your house are healthy since you're going to snack occasionally. Leave the healthy ones out, like apples and things. Also make sure for every bit of protein you eat you eat more vegetables. Stick to lean proteins like chicken and fish. Baked is better than fried obviously. If working out is really a struggle, just try walking a bit more. Park in the far parking space, take the stairs, bike around, etc...
The best thing you can do though, is to be more confident in yourself. I have these two friends. One is very good looking, and looks like a bathing suit model. But she's somewhat insecure. The other was slightly chubby with kind of frizzy hair but she was SUPER confident. Guess who the boys flock to? The slightly chubby but confident woman. All my male friends agree that confidence trumps just about everything else.
