This worked for me also and I rarely have flair ups with them. In my case however, I had to use an over the counter steroid ointment to shrink the swelling and help ease them back in. It sure beats surgery.

You can go to the doctors and try out those medicines and home remedies first . If she had it for a long time ,I don't think those medicines or change of diets would be effective.
She has seen a doctor and applied some cream and have been advised for surgery.
If her case is severe, only surgery will end her woes. You can learn more online ,Goggle it.

If like me she had it after delivering a big baby, then it will disappear within a year. If its through too much anal sex then perhaps she should abstain? During my problems with piles, I would tuck them into my a**hole during my bath if I was going to have sex. I got this advice from a friend and it worked for me. After a while they just disappeared. So she can try tuck it in with a finger for a couple of months then go for surgery if it doesn't shrink on its own. Surgery in that area is nasty because you can't poop for a while. My gay friend had piles and was on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and couldn't sit. That's why most people just dont have the surgery and would rather endure them.

You need to convince her to go for surgery.
Tell her that it will be a painless surgery .
Better to suffer for a few days than to suffer for whole life and maybe never even get the chance to marry or have sex.
Why have to suffer everyday when there is modern medicine to cure her?
