When it comes to talking in front of the class or on the phone I'm a nervous wreck! I hate it! Speech therapy works for some people and not for others.
Google it and put your town name and then you'd really have to be assessed to see if someone could help you or not.
To be honest though, people will find something else to pick on you about. Kids will call you fat / thin / tall / short. This is because they are stupid and childish and it makes them feel better about their own sad little lives.
If you want to fix your lisp then have a look online or in the yellow pages and get you parents to take you to see someone. But do it for you, not because you want to become invisible at school.
Good Luck!! xx

MY sister who is now 43 has had a fairly bad stammer for all her life, not sure how/why it started but do know that when she is nervouse or in a new situation with new people for instance, it gets much worse.
She finds relaxation therapy useful, she also takes herbal remedy called calms when she has to do something like take an oral exam, go to a meeting etc, they help but dont help everyone.
She does go to speech therapy and has learnt some breathing techniques etc that have helped and she is part of a self help group that the speech therapist reccomended.
Everyone that she works with, family, friends etc just dont notice it now and I have stopped finishing her sentences as this was something I got into the habbit of as a kid and it was the wrong thing to do as it just made her more self conciouse.
Relaxing is the key, its easier said than done but the more you take a deep breath and slow words down, think about how and what you are going to say and just be you.
Stop thinking about it, and start enjoying your life, there are thousands of people who have the same problem as you.
