When im out clubbing at night im always the one thats strutting my stuff on the dance floor and getting chatted up by all the hot guys BUT underneath all that i'm secretly shy (just really with guys i fancy) and it gives them the impression that I don't really like them! How can I get over this guy-shyness and just be my usual self??

reader, anonymous, writes (25 April 2006): Iv always had the same problem as you,I worked in a cocktail bar and never had a problem talking to men but put e in the same room as someone i like and its a dfferent story. Get a friend to help you,have them start a conversation with your chosen guy and subtly walk away when you have a relaxed conversation going,if you're too shy to talk ask questions about him and this will help you talk about topics that will interest him and find out if you both have common interests.Mainly you need to psych yourself up,if you go out thinking you cant talk to him you probuably wont,if you have a stratigy set up with a frieng you'll feel more confidant.good luck!

 Men like girls who are themselves. If you're a shy person, that's fine, a lot of men get turned on by this!!! They don't all like 'in your face' girls who come up to them and make all the moves.
If you want to be a bit more confident to come across a bit more enticing, and not scare them off, then try practising on guys you don't fancy. Go up to someone in a club and just have a chat, pratice talking to someone you don't know and be aware of the way you're acting and appearing to him etc. Then, once you've have plenty of practice, you should be ready to flirt outrageously and confidently with the perfect guy when he comes over to you!!!
Just remember not to lead these guys you don't like on. There's nothing wrong with a bit of a chat and a flirt but be careful, sometimes men can get the wrong idea.
