We dated for just over a year and, to make a long story short, he decided he didn't want to be with me anymore and had his mom call the cops on me saying I threatened him. This happened almost a month ago, and everything that they said I did was a lie. I still love him more than anything, and even after all of the drama he's put me through, I still want him. But..calling the cops on me is kind of a deal-breaker. Now there's another guy trying to get with me, and I know he's just trying to be helpful and be a good friend, but all he does is annoy me to no end. How can I get over the guy who crushed my spirit and tell this new guy to just back off without hurting him?

But make it clear to him that you want to remain friends right now; nothing more. I see your age group is 18-21, are you attending university soon? If so, meet as many people as possible, join clubs and possibly a sport, go to parties, get your mind off of this guy who is part of your past. Because soon enough, he will be a distant memory.
Hope I helped! Good luck to you!
