Nothing will ever come of this love I have for him, and I want to build our friendship without thinking about the situation. I sit down at night and listen to sad music while thinking about him, and I just get even sadder. Is this normal? Please help

The only way I could deal with it was to break off contact completely and hope to forget her. Not only did I lose a great friend but the girl I've only ever truely loved.
If I was you I wouldn't do as I did and if I had my time again I would of told her at the start. At least then you both know were you stand and hopefully you'll feel like a weight has been lifted.
Wish you the very best of luck and hope over time things get better. Just remember you're not the only one.
