Can I just add that you need to do things for yourself to ease you down there, so you can stop when it hurts: and yes, use plenty of lube - KY is easy to obtain in the UK at Poundland or the 99p shop!

 The two of you need to do foreplay and lots of it! He can't just stick his penis (or even his finger!) in there right away cause it hurts a lot. You need a lot of foreplay to lube yourself up so that when it is time for him to penetrate you, it will slide easily and it shouldn't hurt. But foreplay is key!!
