He asked me out, however he isn't really the "lovey dovey" kind of person. I want him to be and my friend knows him well and she thinks he will be lovey dovey if I ask him. Trouble is, I have no idea hoe to ask him or if I should just make a move or will he think of me differently.. Please help!

But in the mean time try to be more lovey dovey and affectionate with him and maybe he'll get the hint that you want it too, and suggest/ask him little things like "can you give me a little shoulder massage" or "I love when a guy strokes a girls cheek." But make sure you just let him know that you like affection and that he shouldn't be afraid to show it.

Sometimes, guys don't know how to act. In our age group, (13-15) guys are new to this kind of stuff, like us girls. You'll find that some girls don't know how to show affection either... I think you should maybe make the first move, to show him that you're comfy with being affectionate and see where you go from there. If it doesn't work, send an update, and I'll try and figure out something else! :)
