writes: my boyfriend broke up with me a few days ago, he said he felt rubbish when he saw me, he wasn't happy with me but he didnt seem sure he wanted to break up with me, and wants to be my friend I would like to get back with him, how do I do this without being needy or desperate?

reader, anonymous, writes (5 June 2012): Personally, why would you want to get back with someone who is unhappy to be with you? He says hes not sure what he wants, but you need to take heed to the unhappy bit of convo and not the unsure because the unsure means he doesnt want to see you upset but at the same time he wants to be happy and frankly you and him are no longer doing it for him. I would go no contact with him. When one of an ex couple still has feelings for the other its hard not to live in hope of rekindling the relationship when you stay friends. You just prolong the hurt that way and get crushed when they move on.
Go out and try and move on from your ex. You have to accept its over and then you will begin to live again.

reader, anonymous, writes (5 June 2012): Honestly I wouldn't go back to a guy like this, but if you insist... Try attracting other suitors. He'll notice how refreshing and amazing you're becoming, get jealous, remember what you two had, and want it back. In other words, make him want you! If he doesn't bat an eye at that you'll still have a guy or two to play with.
