I'm currently ill and my mum is about to book me a doctors appointment and I don't know if my Gp is going to have a record on her computer that I went and received the pill or that she will mention it when I go in today as I don't want my mum to find out. Please help me and reply asap! Thank you

hi, no the GP shouldnt tell your mum and it sounds like he wont be informed that you got it either. I would advise you to go on the pill to avoid this worry and stress in future. I believe contraception is still free in the UK. Dont end up as a teenage mum, you have your whole life ahead of you. Best wishes

Can you not go to the doctors appointment by yourself? Am sure you are old enough to go in alone to the doctor and not have your mother go in with you. A GP needs to be confidential so I don't think you need to worry. Let us know how you got on. Also please be more careful about safe sex.

Confidentiality means she shouldn't tell your mum.
However, I think it's best you tell your mum. When having sex, you must be responsible, which means being on birth control and using condoms. I'd suggest confiding in your mum, if you're close, or seeing your doctor again, but alone, to get put on birth control. You shouldn't need another morning after pill.

It seems like your post waited so long to pass the moderators and get posted that you've probably had your appointment and found that everything was fine in that respect and the G.P kept her mouth shut (if she even knew that you'd taken the morning-after pill at all)
If she didn't - then you have every right to file an official complaint against your GP as it's a gross breach of confidentiality (and could get a doctor struck off)
