reader, anonymous, writes (11 April 2011): First things first, do try and talk to him and find out where he is from, what he likes,hobbies, interests just casual questions, nothing heavy- you dont want to scare him off. If you see him on his own, go sit with him talk to him. small things like that should make him realise you are a friend.
You said you are 70% sure he has a girlfriend. Well, a way to know if he does, is just to ask him to the cinema with you and a couple of friends during the weekend becasue this will be the most obvious time he would be with his girlfriend, if he declines- he probably has one, if he says yes then he may still have one, but not shared it with you- in this case be on guard, becasue you do not want ot be the one who broke them up or if he says yes, he could be single.
