 hello have you ever stopped and wondered what went on while he was on duty, the things people in the military do see is unreal people dying every day there friends dying, its just awful, have you ever asked him if he has flashbacks or anything from when he was there, i think this could be leading to his depression you should probably ask if he would like to see someone to speak about everything that went on when he was on duty i hope this helps a bit
