just go up to him and say do you want to go out for a cup of coffe or tea and hang out for a few hours to get to know each other better
that always works good luck

If you have internal e-mail at work this would be an option, randomly send him funny stuff but add some other work colleges address's in so that it doesn't look like it is aimed directly at him. If he starts to randomly send stuff to you, then bingo he notices you. You can also play around with the e-mail content to see what he thinks is funny, atleast this way you can learn a bit about him. If he snds you something you like then reply saying eg. thanks you made my day, that made me laugh, how cute. You get the idea. If this runs smoothly then you can be brave and send a little innocent flirtation, and wait and see. I don't think any man in the older man in the world would have a probleme with a young girl flirting with him. He is older and probably more experienced if he gets the impression you are interested he will probably make the first move been all ols school and that.
