To answer your questions:
I was asking not because my sex drive is lacking, but because my boyfriend's is. He is in his early 40s and we have been together almost three years. His interest in sex has been lacking for over a year and I don't think he masturbates.

This is very general, and difficult to answer without knowing more.
Can you tell us more specifically about this? Are you in a current relationship? How long for? How long have you felt this way for? Approximately how old are you? Do you mastrubate? Is there anything else you can tell us that might be helpful to know for giving advice?

Keeping a good attitude about yourself and life in general keeps testosterone levels up. Depression, booze in excess, drugs, cutting yourself off from other people,...all lower testosterone. Having a special someone in your life also helps to keep your libido up. Yes, there are synthetic hormones and other "medications" that can increase your libido, but these are all "last resorts" and should always be accompanied by a medical exam and by prescription. Never "self medicate". They can be dangerous.
