Hooking up with an ex, good or bad idea?!

I'm in 7th grade. My ex boyfriend had wanted to hook up with me while we were going out.I still have feelings for him. And he seems to feel the same way. Do you think it would be bad if we hooked up but werent going out. He doesnt live in my town so it wouldnt go around the school or anything. When should I hook up with him and is it totally necesary for me to go out with him in the process?!

A reader, anonymous, writes (25 July 2006):

[sigh] I won't say the obvious. I'll leave that to the other aunts and uncles. As for your question, there is a very unrefined concept here that you seem to be lacking. Simply, what is your definition of a boyfriend? Is that a boy whom you hold hands with, go out, do stuff, hug each other, kiss, and tell everyone you and him is a couple? So if what I mentioned is the case, then I believe that it is neither necessary to 'hook-up' with him and go out with him at the same time.

Mind you, this is a very strange and uncanny anamoly... I have slight problem computing this 'dilemma'.
