I am 24 years and in a relatioship of 5 years, due to the advice I got from one of my questions I asked lately concerning wanting to get married. My fiance is now serious about settling down and he's sharing his plans with me about getting married. What do you think?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (17 January 2009):

You wanted him to be serious about marriage, now he is... Why ask us what we think. It should be good news, the fact that you are back asking for advice instead of celebrating is worrying.

What is troubling you? He's making plans, why doesn't this make you happy?

PunkyPippi agony auntDo you want to get married? Are you financially ready? Do you have any other goals you want to meet before being with one person for the rest of your life?

Only you can decide what you really want, but those are a few questions you need to answer before making a decision like that.

A reader, anonymous, writes (17 January 2009):

Sounds good, anonymous. I hope things work out for you. Five years is a long time for a relationship to last. You should both be well aware of each other's hopes and desires by now. It seems your fiance now has confidence in his ability to make a marriage and home with you. It is important that men have this confidence. Best wishes.
