Question - (2 September 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 2 September 2008)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok im 16. A met a guy through a friend and he really liked me, i was unsure about whether i did like him but i met up with him anyway. True he's not great looking but im not shallow its not all about looks. Though little things annoy me about him and the first time he kissed me i thought i was going to throw up. He really is perfect though everything he si everything i said i've ever wanted but then why do i feel like hes really not right for me? I really can't put my finger on whats wrong with him! He said he loved me and i thought i did too. But then i told a friend that i was having doubts about him and then they told him. He then said i was lying and everything else and i've broken his heart and i was upset but i don't know if this is because i'm just a nice person. Is he really right for me?

natasia agony auntNo, he clearly, obviously, isn't right for you. If he was right for you, the first kiss would have been sublime.

Babe, you like the guy (maybe) as a person, you feel (definitely) responsible for him (as he likes you so much), but you DON'T fancy him! And what do we call people we like/respect/care for but don't fancy? Friends. Only. : )

Just tell him gently but firmly that you like him but don't want a relationship with him. He will recover, I promise. You can't not do it because you don't want to hurt him - I did that, and literally wasted 7 years of my life. Just tell him. You know you want to.
