I'm not saying she's acting like an idiot, but she believes she will get him back, but I don't know how to explain to her that he wasnt interested in that way anymore? Also how do I know if their break-up is settled" since I plan on asking him out after she's over him?

The thing is she doesn't seem to mind that I find him attractive, or that he hit on me the day before! But I know the whole "chicks before dicks" thing too, and I believe full-heartedly in it, but have no idea what to choose. It's not that I tried to steal him. It's that I've become more attracted to him by the day, and that he's now single and she seems to be fine that I'm attracted and not fine with the tought of someone else with him is sending me mixed signals!

Don't get involved in this at all. If you say anything to her and then go after him, she will blame you and your friendship will take a hit. Plus, friend's exes are off limits if you want to keep the friendship.
Find someone else and keep your mouth shut.
