 i was once in this same situation...What you do is not just be all opened about you liking him.Drop hints that you would like to get to know him better.You could ask him on a date or just talk to him about relationships.But just remember your friendship is at sake right now so if you see he doesn't really like you in that way leave it at that dont push him to do something hes not willing to do.Hope i helped!
