A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

My girlfriend and I broke up recently, however we really want to get back together. I am 19 and she is 15 almost 16. Her mom thinks im too old and she wont let her date me again bc she thinks that was part of the reason why we broke up. We are madly in love but we cant date until she is 18. What do i do? Should i wait for her or move on?

A male reader, anonymous, writes (6 October 2008):

It's perfectly fine to date someone her age (lord knows, some of these teens these days are very hard to tell apart from adults).

So long as it's dating and nothing more, then no one can actually do anything.

But you are wise to respect her parents wishes.

Best you can hope for is to talk to the parents and see if a compromise can't be reached.

Or else you will have to sneak around, exciting it is, but still unfair to both of you.
