writes: hi, this is a bit of a random question, and i'm 17 so i really should know this as i've had a good few years of experience.Does your period start a month after the END of your last period, or a month after the START of your last period?! so say that one month you had your period from the 1st to the 5th, if everything went to schedule, would your next one start on the 1st of the next month, or the 5th?! This has always confused me and i've never kept a diary of my periods (i should i know, but i always forget!) so i was just wondering!Cheers,Hannah

A typical cycle is 28 days long. That means that if your period starts on the 1st of the month, you can expect the next one to start on the 29th, or 28 days after the START of your period. (Sucks, doesn't it?)
However, there's no "rule" for the length of your cycle. 28 days is normal. So is 35, so is 31. There are a number of factors that can complicate matters and affect your cycle. These include:
* being too thin, which can stop your periods,
* being overweight, which can lead to polycystic ovary syndrome (irregular periods, hormone imbalances), and
* being stressed, which can delay your period.
There are other factors, like family history, too.
Try keeping a diary for a few months and you'll find out what's normal for *you*.

All depends on your age and past history. Some women never have a reuglar period...ever. Just make sure you practice safe birth control!

usual your period comes a month later on same day as the start of your period. so if you have you period on the 1st of jan then your next period should be 1st of feb.
