hi

after 2 years with my girlfriend(who lives next door) we had a pathetic argument and she finished with me, ive told her how i feel and that i want her back , but she isnt having any of it she is 19 and im 26 , we are friends at the moment, she stays at mine quite alot i cook for her take her out, take her to work everyday,i do everything for her. she says that we will never be together again! but the thing is we spend most of our spare time together and still occasionally have sex, next day she will say it was a mistake and yet we still hang out together and chances are we will have sex again a week later? im so confused as to what she wants, we have split a couple of times before but end up getting back together after a month, its also come to light that she has been texting her ex before me saying she misses him? i dont know what todo this girl is my life ,whats going on in her head ? does she want me or not ? and how do i go about getting her back ? i dont want to lose her to someone else

A female reader, QuirkLady United States +, writes (26 July 2009):

QuirkLady agony auntI think that you two need to take a break from each other for a while. Let her miss you. Right now she is running all over your heart and you're putting up with it. Now is the time for you to pull back and let her know that you do these things for a girlfriend, not a friend. Say no to her sometimes. Once you stand up for yourself and put up some boundaries, she will either come around or go. Either way you won't be used anymore.

Good luck.
