Help!!! Why is he acting like this?

I have just started college and i really like this guy in the same course as me (he is nearly 2 years older than me) - we have a lot in common, and we get on well. I 've been trying to work out if he likes me too but im not sure. The first few days he was really nice and we have both talked to each other a lot about bands and music. i would say i've known him for nearly 3 weeks now and he has become more cheeky, for example he keeps making comments on my height ( im small) whenever he gets the chance, but in a joking way. He never did that before and now he's stared to hit me on the arm and stuff. Its weird. I just can't tell if he's acting like that because he has guessed that i like him and he doesn't like me back. :( im really confused, help?
