Depending on the relationship you have with your mother I would either..
a) Let time runs it course and your mother will slowly get over it, after all she cannot stop talking to you forver. She maybe needs time to realise your not her 'little girl' anymore and you're growing up!
or
b) Talk to her. I know it would be embarrasing but explain to her you understand what your doing, you're old enough to begin exploring these kind of things and maybe it might make things abit more open with your mother.
How long have you been with this boyfriend?
If the answer is not long maybe your mom thinks you're just being 'easy' and doesnt want her daughter to be messed around or used as an object.
If its a long term thing maybe you need to get your mom to get to know your boyfriend and so she can learn to trust him.
After all your 16/17 years old and these things do happen, it might just be hard for her to acknowledge!

You haven't metioned how long you have been with your BF or weather yu are a virgin,
You should try to get you and your mum in a room alone tell her things cannot go-on this way that should make her listen
You then explain that you are/arent a virgin
Then explain you love him and plan on making the relationship work
Then say your 16-17 and it is legal
You should say you don't plan on having sex with him but even if you did you would talk to her and use BC and a condom ,
Its nit going to be easy but I'm 15 and have recently explaind I'm no longer a virgin
Don't feel presure of going all the way anyway first time ain't all that
I'm a guy n I only lasted 4 n a bit mins :S x hope this helps xoxo
