A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I feel really stupid because it's only the 2nd week of going out with my boyfriend, but I'm having serious doubts... I know I need to talk to him about it but he was one of my best friends before he asked me out and i dont want to lose the friendship : I preferred being friends. I feel terrible and i have been avoiding talking to him because I dont know how to tell him - I'm on the brink of having an emotional breakdown!!!! I dont want to mess things up between us... I know I need to snap out of it and be straight with him but it's so much harder than it seems.

please help me ....

A female reader, petina1 United Kingdom +, writes (13 November 2010):

petina1 agony auntIt's really difficult going from friends to relationship and things are never really the same after that. All you can do is be honest with him. If he walks away and doesnt come back then at least you aren't having to stress out over it all and live like that. If he understands and can take it back to friendship then that's a bonus. You could even help him get another girlfriend, that would be a sign of true friendship wouldnt it. The line has been crossed and it's a difficult one to mend sometimes.
