I have seen various doctors, specialists, had many many tests etc but nothing has ever been found to be wrong with me. Now I am on the pill and I also am prescribed blood clotting tablets in case bleeding gets to be too much. This has helped as I used to at times have a period that could last up to 3 weeks long with heavy bleeding and I would have sometime just 1 or 2 week intervals between periods. Now my bleeding isn't as erratic with the pills etc. My period lasts the usual 1 week but at times I still have a period twice a month and on the odd occassion I have experienced a week between having periods. Like I said I am completely fine and nothing is wrong with me - I have seen every specialist there is to see. But my question is: is there any reason why this may happen to me? I mean why do I have a period at times twice a month...does it mean my body is releasing an egg twice a month...? Would that even make me twice as fertile (not that I care to be or not) And what determines the amount of bleeding there is? They say a woman only bleeds a couple tsps but I know for a fact in my case that wasn't so as when my bleeding was excessive I was using up about 7 super=sized tampons a day. Thanks

I have seen some of the best specialists etc in London and spent alot of time, money and effort for years - even invasive internal tests etc. Trust me I am completely fine - nothing is wrong with me. This is just the way I am. I am currently on the normal birth control pill which helps to regulate my bleeding more. I also do have blood clotting pills in case my periods are too heavy.
So the question again is NOT about going to see the doctors, or what medicine I am or should be on....I am just curious why this happens as I know for fact there are many many women who have similar irregular periods like myself. So just curious about that really and what causes it!!!
Many thanks

There are two tests for this, the crappy one, and the good one. Get the detailed one, since the crappy one usually ends up telling people that they are fine when sometimes they are not.
