I have been having problems with my clitoris - it has inflamed and increased in size for a few days to the size of a peanut and then it collapses released some discharge and is sore for a few days going back to its normal size and then I am fine again. This has occurred a few times over the past couple of years. Sometime it also becomes inflamed during my period. I am worried and afraid to talk to my doctor about it as he is male. Please could you suggest what would be the best thing to do

Don't be affraid to tell your doctor. He has learned about these kinds of problems or will send you to a specialist. Ask your parents if you could get a woman doctor.

I know a girl who hasn't had a period in 3 months and has had unprotected sex with many guys & she probably has every STD in the book but she won't go to the doctor because she doesn't want to tell her doctor that she's been sleeping around. Doctors get paid big money to help people like you. It's just silly that you feel stupid about telling him. If it's that bad why not go to your local health dept., or get a female doctor?

Babe you definatly need to talk to a doctor about this, speak to your doctors and ask if you can see one of the female doctors at the surgery as you do not have to stick to seeing your doctor for everything.
Talk to an adult that you are close with and ask them to call the doctors for you if that makes it better and then they can do all the talking over the phone.
Take care.xx.
