Seems like you're not speaking his love language. You tell him you love him but he doesn't understand it because it's not in his love language.
Suggestion: Read "The five love languages" by Garry Chapman
Can a book change things? yes. yes. and yes!

The "spark" your boyfriend is talking about is infatuation. When you first get together with someone, you feel butterflies in your stomach, your heart pounds, you cant stop touching each other. Then....this dies down!
You can't go back to what it used to be. The relationship is ready to take a new direction and its all about whether you both want to continue. Do you miss that old feeling or are you ready for some incredible new feelings?
Talk to your boyfriend about how you feel and to add some "spark" get to know each other better, go places with him..be adventurous!
