He says I shouldn't talk about the past and should just trust him

Question - (6 April 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 7 April 2011)
A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

Dear Cupid,

My BF and I have been dating exclusively for 3 months (dating 4). Should he be in love with me by now if we're seeing each other 3-4 times a week? I'm concerned he's not over his long-term partner which was followed by a painful unrequited love. He says he's ready for a serious relationship BUT he's still friends with the ex and he won't even talk about the unrequited love (says its too painful). I think this is not good yet I'm told I shouldn't ask about the past (as per my friends) and just trust him. What should I do???

Eggs are ready once you boiled them for ten minutes, love is kinda difficult to tell. :)

What to do? Well, what can you do?

You have two options here, you trust him or you leave him. But you can't be sure which one is the right decision. If his previous relationship was long-term and has ended recently, chances are he isn't over his ex and much less he's ready for a new relationship. But everything is possible.
