When I talk to him online, he tells me how much he likes me etc, but then when I see him in real life, he's really shy and doesn't say much. What should I do? I want it to work, but because he's being shy around me in person and really chatty online, it's making me really confused. Thanks

If you have never seen this guy in person then when you do finally meet him and he is not the same online then you should give him a chance to open up and warm up to you and if that doesn't work then maybe you guys weren't meant to be in a relationship.

It's easier to talk to someone through words instead of face to face because you can't see their reaction. You can definitely say what you are afraid to say in person, because there is not as much to distract you from the hard stuff.
But I used to have a boyfriend that I met on the internet, and I think I fell more in love with him in the way that he presented himself through IM because it is definitely easier to be wittier when you have some time to think and can change your answer before it comes out.
But anyway, what I am trying to tell you is that maybe you should give him another chance and get to know him a little better before you decide what to do.
