He said he will wait for me but I'm not sure if I like the fact that he smokes and drinks now, what should I do?

Me and Jack, we dated for a year in elementry and I have to move and so I have talked to him in 2 years and today we finally talked. He's in 8th grade and I'm in 7th he told me he had started smoking and drinking. But we both like each other a whole lot, but I don't like the fact that he smokes and drinks. So I made him promise to me he'll try to stop and he did, but I'm moving back to Florida in about 3 years and we in a way promised to go out and our families are really good friends and our brothers are best friends friends and graduate together, but than we started talking about us taking each other virginity away, and I told him I would do it but I been thinking that I don't want to do it until I'm married, and I don't want to tell him because I'm scared of what he's going to say, he's always been a goody good but he's starting to be bad and I told him that to not count on going out because you never know what's going to happen in 3 years so I live 1,400 miles away and so he said he'll still wait for me. What should I do?
