writes:I've been dating a Marine for nearly 10 months. He has been overseas 5 out of the 10 months. We talk on the phone nearly every day and have a good relationship, but I keep finding out things about his past. I recently found out that he has slept with A LOT of women. He said that in his past he's been out of the country and alone and that he's not as bad as some of his fellow Marines. I don't think these reasons justify all the people he's been with. I'm a small town girl and the amount of women he's been with really bothers and disgusts me. I was wondering if anyone else has this kind of problem with men in the military and if this relationship is worth pursuing.

reader, anonymous, writes (6 December 2010): There are a lot of things that military men do that are "common" and yet I would not consider them good relationship signs. Like cheating for example.
If you don't want a partner that has been a slut then don't put up with it. There are lots of people out there and they are not all sluts. Where is the incentive for anyone else to respect their body if the partners who mind it do not make it a sticking point?

 hey so yeah ive been dating a marine for 3 months and hes been with like loads more than me. i mean i dont like it but i guess that i just have to deal with it but its hard becasue he actually has hvp and so it does bother me becasue we cant have sex like without condom or oral so yeah
ive only ever been with 2 people before and so yeah it bothers me hes been with so many too but honestly i know hes commited to me and only me so if your happy and you trust him its fine i think

YES! Think about, they get deployed to the Middle East for 6-12 months, getting blown up, hot weather conditions, no female contact..what do they want to do when they get back to the states? Exactly. Also, he's a single male living on base with a lot of other fellow Marines, they're going to go out and pick up chicks. Not all but most military men are man whores. Women are also throwing themselves at them because the uniform does it for them. I know because I'm an army wife. My husband's magic isn't so low either, but I don't really care because that's who he was then. It doesn't define who he is now, with me.
If his sexual history bothers you then don't date him, or any military guys for that matter.
