writes: My man ended our brief relationship after I accused him of flirting with another woman and now he won’t talk to me…. This behaviour is very out of character for me and it probably only happened because I had one glass of wine too many but I am afraid that he has been left thinking I am a jealous and controlling person, which I am not. I know it’s a big issue for him as he was in a jealous and possessive relationship before hence his reaction to my accusation. I want to give him some time and space to put this into perspective and to show him that I am not that person. Does anyone have any tips on how to achieve this please, or how I can make light of this one episode?

...but dumping you for it strikes me as rather more so. After all, jealousy is a rather common relationship hurdle many couples need to work out as trust is established in the relationship. It's not like you accused him of robbing a bank or some horrible crime.
Things are going to come up in a relationship and they cannot be solved unless both partners are willing to discuss it and resolve it.
If his reaction to every single issue is going to be to dump you and run, it sounds to me like he did you a favor. I'd let this one (and his petulant temper) go and count myself lucky.
