It's probably too early to worry. As hannieseds writes, he has a lot on his plate, and maybe a thanks message slipped his mind.
Be patient, and receptive if he texts again before you meet. In fact, maybe --given that he's probably really rushed and confused-- you might text to say that you're looking forward to your date next week. Just friendly, and with no strings.
It serves as a gentle reminder, and might even give him a good reason to text you back!
So, take it easy and try not to read too much into his actions, or lack thereof, at least until you know him better and his life slows down.

Hi there,
I wouldn't worry too much about this. Sounds to me like he has a lot on at the moment and I'm sure he would have been very grateful to get a 'good luck' text from a perhaps future girlfriend. Don't read anything into him not texting back a thank you, he probably didn't feel he needed to or maybe even was about to but suddenly got side-tracked?
There are a number of different possibilities to why he didn't, but it would be wrong of you to assume the worst before considering the other reasons. Just play it cool, enjoy your date with him and maybe casually drop into the conversation 'Did you get my good luck text last week' and see what he says, chances are he meant to. Have fun! xxx
