reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2010): There are loads of guys who use those sort of terms to all there friends who are girls. Perhaps try and listen to see if you hear him say it to other girls? If not and he only uses it for you then chances are he probably does like u x

i have to say, being an active member of the drama club that there is a very good possibility that he is gay. although both of the terms "babe" and "doll" are often used in romantic situations, gay guys also use them a lot. and pretty much like 70% of guys that are in drama are homosexual.
