reader, anonymous, writes (9 October 2008): Generally with adults, when someone says that they want to break-up, but that it is their fault, not yours, it is usually them trying to break-up with you in as gentle a way as possible.
Your best bet is to try to stay friends with him, and if you were such good friends, he might realise he's made a mistake, and want to get back together with you, but don't hold your breath. Really sorry.. xxx
