Hello, I have been talking to a guy in Denmark for 4 months, my family are so againist this and tried everything to get me to stop but I have fallen so hard for this man. This was so new to me, never cared much for the computer before. Anyway he was pushing for my cell number and address which my parents said not to give him which I never gave him. Now he just called it quits. Should I just leave it be and get on with my life? I live in Canada. I am 21 and he is 30. I would just like some others advice. Thanks... xo

Blue_Angel0316 agony auntI know for a fact that sometimes people tell you anything over the internet and it may or may not be the truth. There are lots of times that pictures are posted of someone and it's really another person. Their are times when ages can vary by saying they or younger or older and it's incorrect. You could even be a talking to a person who tells you they are a man(woman) and they are actually the opposite to which they say they are.

I have been on the internet since Jan. 1999 and have chatted in many sites. I have several thousand people on my friends lists. Not everyone has always been truthful about everything all the time. It is actually a very few that really turn out to be pretty much what they say.I have also attended chat parties and met people in person. I even live in a town where I met several people who are still good friends.

I met a guy who moved here to marry me. I spent 8 years of my life taking care of him. Walzing around on eggshells to keep from having more problems than I did. There is alot to the story but my point is to be VERY CAUTIOUS, RESPECT THE FACT THIS IS THE INTERNET! I am sure your Mom was worried about some of the above mentioned things. There is always someone out there who wants to exploit, use or otherwise harm others. It is best that you had common sense not to give this man the number until you felt comfortable and safe.

Your GUT INSTINT may have worked well for you. In case he was just a really good with potential and he couldn't wait out the time I think he may be lurking somewhere and it's possible that he could show up again. I have had many online friends that would dissappear and over time would find me again. I am sorry that you were hurt by his dissappearence but the fact that he flew the coop because you didn't tell him where his chick lived may have been a sign. Alot of times when someone puts pressure on you to give a phone number or address it is for purposes that are not always good. He should have tried to wait it out if he was really interested in making it something more or permanent in the long term. The fact that he didn't could mean his intentions weren't for the good. It's also possible that he could have really liked you and meant no harm, but you DID right in putting him off for your safety and peace of mind.

Always be cautious about giving out your Name, Phone number, Address, Names of family members and other Important informations over the INTERNET! It's always better safe than sorry. If the Dane really likes you and things seem to bring him back then just be cautious and continue on one day at a time. NEVER DO ANYTHING THAT YOU FEEL UNEASY ABOUT, NEVER MET ANYONE ALONE(HAVE A FRIEND OR SOMEONE CLOSEBY, MEET IN PUBLIC PLACES. GO SLOWLY WITH ANY INTERNET RELATIONSHIP. TAKING ONE DAY AT THE TIME.

I PRAY THAT GOD WILL WATCH OVER YOU AND KEEP YOU SAFE IN THE PALMS OF HIS HANDS.

SOMETIMES INTERNET ROMANCES COME FULL CIRCLE AND BECOME WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIPS. SOME ARE LONG TERM AND OTHERS ARE NOT. SOMETIMES THEY EVEN WIND UP IN MARRIAGE. \

ENJOY ALL OF YOUR CHAT EXPERIENCES AND HAVE LOADS OF FUN BUT BE SAFE! MY BEST TO YOU IN FINDING THE MAN OF YOUR DREAMS. 8-)

God bless,

Blue_Angel
