 Nothing wrong what so ever, the first time is never perfect, practice and you will soon get it right. Maybe she was tight and therefore it would have been hard for you to enter. Make sure you use lubrication and lots of it and make sure there is plenty of foreplay. Also as for the 'weird' sounds that is perfectly normal it is just because of the friction and the wetness.

 Nothing wrong with the positions. It sounds to me that you were possibly not erect enough, or perhaps she was too uptight (tight) to receive. It is common for a virgin female to be difficult to penetrate if she is also nervous and insufficiently aroused (wet). Try, try again.
