I am having a really hard time coping with a breakup, I just wondered how long it took to get over a 12 year relationship, I also have one child to my ex.

try and figure out why your feelings for her would have strengthened in this month. what my assumption would be is that it's because you can't have her. when we can't have what we want, or when someone turns us down or rejects us, it's only natural to want them ten times more. it's a part of human nature, unfortunately. so right now, you're feeling extremely drawn to her based solely on that. i'm sure you probably have already thought of that, but just incase you hadn't, i thought i'd throw that out there. because sometimes understanding why we feel a certain way can help us to move on from it. also, maybe you shouldn't try and remain friends right now. it may be too difficult. i'd suggest taking some space for a while and working on getting over her. good luck.
