Yes that's a problem.... The law on Sexual Offenses has changed, this means that if your a teacher you shouldn't date your student until they are 18. It's to protect children against adults in authority who may groom them for sex. Your boyfriend could go to jail if your parents choose to make an issue of it.Sigh.. he knows the law, what he has done is wrong. But now you are dating and pregnant. Sigh... as I said, your not yet 18 and the situation is still dangerous. There is nothing you can do. Your family and friends haven't sent him to jail. They are not happy, but nobody would be. What your boyfriend did was wrong. All you can do is have your baby and be happy together. Your family and friends are probably expecting him to leave you all alone.

he used to be a teacher at my school

The secrecy is now ended, your relationship is now public. Your above the age of consent, so your legal in the UK. Nobody has the right to say anything about you being together. Most times, people don't announce their relationship straight away. They wait for months, until they know that it is true love and they will definitely stay together before telling anyone. People nowadays date a lot, it looks wrong if you keep bringing a different man home every couple of weeks, so most people wait until they are sure.
People around you possibly disapprove because pregnancy so young can be difficult. The best thing you can do is prove them wrong. Be happy, make each other happy and stay together for ever, and the worries from the people around you will stop.
Congratulations on the baby and good luck.
