writes: when i was 16 i had a very strong fishy vaginal odour that lasted just one day. im now 23. my discharge has always smelt 'normal' but some days it would smell quite strong. ive been with my new partner for 7 months and have noticed it smells quite fish. im on the pill and ive missed pills several times and have never got pregnan. have i had an ongoing infection since i was 16 and what was that strong odour?

Hi,Please don't try to self diagnose! Like the others said, it could be an infection or it could be nothing, but you need a professional to answer your question!The GP or nurse at your surgery, or if that's too embarassing, go into the sexual health clinic at the hospital where you can be anonymous and they can take swabs or whatever and you can then never have to see them again!Good luck :o) XX

Hi, this is a good question to ask your gynecologist. I'm not sure that any of us are qualified to speculate on whether you have an infection or not. If you're uncertain, wouldn't it be better to be safe than sorry?
You could do some research at webmd.com or other reputable and medically reviewed websites.
