I said no thinking it meant just that - sleeping in the spare room, but since i said no for the past 2 weeks she has been more distant with me, doesnt make the effort to chat or text anymore. i know my question sounds a bit trivial but i'm hoping anyone can offer some advice or their interpretation of this. she is quite shy. have i blown my chance?

Not completely. Ask her out to do something interesting, have a good time and then have her crash at yours.
