Have I blown it? I think she would have freaked out less if I had told her I had just run over her cat than telling her I fancy her.

A male United Kingdom age 41-50, anonymous writes:

I need some advice from the female readers. I recently told a young lady that I had feelings for her, she texted back telling me that she had given the impression that she wanted to be more than friends, but all she actually wanted was to be friends.

I told her that I would stay away from the bar she works at for a bit, so she doesn't feel awkward at work and I get no reply.

Two days later I text her again and ask her if we can still be friends and i'm totally fine with it not going further. She then texts back saying she doesn't need this atm because she has enough problems to deal with and I really upset her, how did I upset her?

I really don't know what I should do. Do I just forget about her and pretend I don't even know her when I go to the pub? or should I buy her some flowers and say sorry for upsetting, would this make her even more angry with me?

I think she would of freaked out less if I had told her I just ran over her cat or something, instead of telling her that I fancy her.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (20 August 2008):

I agree that she has to report you to the police and file charges against you! I would have done the same if I was her. Like you have been told, stay away. It is also true that you're inconsiderate and a CREEP.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (19 August 2008):

Look no offense but you don't know me, and you don't fully know the situation, so don't call me a creep.

If I was a creep I wouldn't be here asking for advice would I?. I've not been texting her and i've stayed away from my local. I even removed her number from my mobile so that I didn't keep texting her.

Also why would anyone report me to the police just for going down the pub?

I suggest you keep your childish remarks to yourself before you really upset someone.

Stay away of her! Simply and shortly. Sorry to sound harsh but you sound to me like a creep; the kind of guys I would run away too if he were after me! Don't buy her flowers, text her, call her, or anything. Just stay away of her, or she wouldn't be blamed if she reported you to the police.

A female reader, TELLULAH United Kingdom +, writes (19 August 2008):

TELLULAH agony auntShe obviously has something on her mind and has over reacted.

If I were you, I would move on and pretend it didnt happen. Dont buy flowers, it sounds like you would be wasting your money. And if you see her at your local, just say hello and then talk to your friends.
