For the younger generations information, back up until at least the late 80's women didn't shave anything except a bikini line and that was fine. Pubic hair is part of your sexuality. By shaving it all off, your are actually taking away a lot of your sex appeal. As far as being cleaner? Your head is clean, isn't it? Personally I find anything but trimmed a very big turn off.

 Everyone is differant when it comes to pubic hair. Some like it all natural, some trimmed and tidy, some like the full shaved look. Personally I think a completely shaved pube looks like a deranged elephant!
As for asking if you love them: most girls want to know that they are loved and cared for before they sleep with a man. So, yes, it is very commmon and completely natural for your girlfriend to ask you to make a statement of feelings and intentions before sleeping with you.

 I don't think girls really care if you have hair down there, its all natural.
Girls tend to get rid of hair down there on themselves because the consider it as unclean.
Girls will ask you if you love them before having sex so they know that you are not using them just for sex.
