writes:Hi, ok i wrote up about a week ago for some advice on how to get rid of these feelings for my teacher and the person who replyed asked me to post it again but a bit shorter as she didn't undertand it. Right, when i was at juniors there was this teacher who was my favourite teacher, although i hated her for being so mouthy n "snobby". When i left i startd missing her lke you would a friend if they had moved away. I wrotein before xmas asking for advice becuase i thought having these feelings for her might be saying im bi or gay. I'm not and i realise now i only love her as a friend although i hate her at the same time for what she was like. When i see her i darent look at her incase she remembers me, i dnt like going to the shop on the estate cuz i know she lives around there somewhere. I seem to feel eally uncomfatable being anywhere near her.When i went back to that school on work experience i noticed alot had chaged reguarding teachers, i found out she had got divorced n it seemed to hit me abit tht she had as if ud just found out a long term friend had. I suppose i wanted to know if she was ok like you would a friend.The thing is i seem to love her secretly as a friend i think one reason is becuase i really think she has another side to her, not the mouthy woman i saw her as. Although we never spoke properly n only in class when we had to i don't regret it because as i said i idn't really like her. I don't love her in a sexual way but as if we were friends and im really confused as to why. i really want to try to stop thinking about her because when im on my own thats all i do, i want to get her out of my head but at the same time i don't want to forget her. Please can you help, i hope you can make more sense of the message.

But most of the people in this high school are girls who like the same sex teachers. A little more or less than half the school is either gay or bi. for other students or teachers. If its for teachers, only a few actually want to spend their lives with them. Others just say "Ouch! she's hot!"
I'm actually one of the few students who does want to spend my life with my teacher. I am in love with her.

In my high school a lot of people love their teachers or teachers from eighth grade, but they dont do anything about it...

reader, anonymous, writes (21 April 2007): You seem really confused, I have felt like this but not as extreme. My advice is to try to talk to her. Not about how you feel, just a catch-up. Maybe then you will be able to see what she's like, as maybe the reason you're so confused is because you don't know what she's REALLY like.
As for not thinking about her, the only thing I can suggest is just to think about something else every time she comes into your head. I know this is hard but it can be done if you are determined enough. Occupy your mind every time you think about her.
This is a confusing question and it's probably all part of teenage life and confusing emotions, but like I said, talk to her and maybe your feelings will become clearer to you. I hope this helps!
